Affordable Storage has compiled a list of frequently asked questions. Hopefully, this should help you find simple and concise answers so you can get the storage which best suits your needs.

What can I store?

We provide storage for boats, cars, caravans and trailers, household goods, furniture, trade materials, tools and commercial stock. No hazardous, illegal, stolen, flammable, explosive, environmentally harmful, perishable or living goods, or goods that are of risk to the property or any person are permitted to be stored. When can I access my storage?

We have different access hours for our warehouse and our storage yard.

  • Warehouse Storage: Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm.
  • Yard Storage: 7 days per week, 5am and 9pm.

We advise checking the website for the most up to date information.

What if I need to access my storage outside of advertised times?

For access requests outside of official times, please contact our office between 9am and 5pm on 1300 60 65 70.

Do I need to make an appointment to access my storage?

You do not need to make an appointment to access your storage if it is located within our external yard. All customers are provided with keypad access between 5am and 9pm, 7 days a week. We require 24 hours notice for access to any other storage within the warehouse, including cars, caravans, boats, and floor storage.

How much notice do I need to give when I want to move out?

You need to give a minimum of 7 days notice. Full details are contained within your Storage Agreement.

I want to carry out repairs on my boat. Can I do this while it is in storage?

Boat maintenance and repairs are allowed, however consideration needs to be given to neighbouring boats and to the site. Boat owners are responsible for ensuring the area is clean and tidy. Boats stored in our covered area have access to water and power. Please contact our office between 9am and 5pm on 1300 60 65 70 for further details.

I want to carry out repairs on my car. Can I do this while it is in storage?

We do not allow any maintenance or repairs to be undertaken on cars, trailers, or caravans being stored at our site. We do offer basic maintenance services including a high pressure wash, tyre pressure checks and battery charging.

Can I increase or decrease the size of my storage?

Yes. Please contact our office between 9am and 5pm on 1300 60 65 70 and we will work out the best option.

How secure are my goods?

We do everything we can to ensure your goods are secure at all times. Our warehouse and yard areas are all covered by 24 hour CCTV. Entrance to our premises is via an automated steel gate, protected by video surveillance and our secure pin access control system. Goods stored within shipping containers, or within our warehouse are all privately secured. Cars are privately locked within a pen or insulated unit and are only accessible by the owner, or by our staff in the case of an emergency.

How does billing work?

Our preferred billing methods direct debit, however we also accept credit cards and electronic funds transfer. Note: Payment is made in advance.

What is the minimum time I can store?

The minimum storage time is one month.

What does it mean I only pay for the time I store?

If you decide to end your storage before the end of the month, we will reimburse you for the days that you do not have storage with us. Please note, only monthly payments are eligible for reimbursement. Annual agreements are only eligible for a maximum reimbursement period of 1 month.

Do you provide a discount when I pay upfront or for a year?

We provide discounted rates when you book storage for several months in advance. Please check our latest specials or call our office for more information.
